The CTO - META, is primarily responsible for ensuring the META Presales teams have all the skills and expertise required to support the organization in achieving the regional Sales Target. The Chief Technology Officer (CTO) will be responsible for leading the technical activities and ensuring collaboration across departments to drive strategic initiatives to achieve long-term organizational goals.
Being a market thought leader & Evangelist in the areas that Software AG operates in, is also a must.
As well as the PreSales leadership, there will also be the customer/prospect-facing angle, where they are required to take part in business-driven senior-exec conversations, as well as technology discussions with relevant stakeholders. The Role will be part of the META Leadership team that jointly sets out and executes the strategy of the territory.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
  • Lead, manage and support the presales team, in order to execute sales strategies in close conjunction with the VP of MET
  • Strong people management skills with proven track record of growing technology teams
  • Creating a strong collaboration between presales and the sales team
  • META GTM preparation
  • Provide advice, guidance and support to the sales organisation, delivering service excellence to the sales executives, while maintaining the long-term integrity of our META organisation and helping to ensure the delivery of high-quality customer engagements
  • Ensure discipline of excellence and passion throughout the team to create a challenger culture.
  • Actively manage the effective use of resources in the Pre-Sales team.
  • Work with senior customer prospects to discover their major business challenges
  • Credibly describe & demonstrate Software AG solutions at a high level.
  • Regular PR output via LinkedIn & news articles
  • Regular Keynote speaker
  • Oversee the proper use of internal cross-charge budget assigned for using resources from other cost centers
  • Leadership coaching Exchange of information with corporate / regular cadence
  • People Develop and retain high potentials of excellence
  • Oversee and co-ordinate the bid management process for sales opportunities where needed, to ensure that Software AG is bidding for business that it can win
  • Work with the sales organization to address any concerns about the pre-sales function in a proactive and positive way
  • Understand SAG technology at a high level and provide support for certain customer meetings, providing architectural guidance if possible
  • Promote team-based working and highest quality standards
  • Hire, manage and encourage all pre-sales team members, ensuring the maintenance of \xe2\x80\x9cbest in industry\xe2\x80\x9d position to our strict team-based approach and values
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
  • Educated to university degree or equivalent
  • 5+ years relevant experience in a field similar to Software AG\xe2\x80\x99s proposition
  • Pre-sales management or other management skill at a relevant level
  • Excellent customer communication and strategy skills
