QS AND COST ESTIMATOR (ONLY UAE EXPERIENCE)

1. Estimation & Pricing

Review project drawings, specifications, BOQs, and tender documents. Prepare itemised cost estimates for materials, labor, equipment, and subcontractor works. Develop detailed cost breakdowns for civil, MEP, architectural, fit-out, or landscape works (based on company sector). Prepare rate analysis, productivity factors, and pricing sheets. Obtain and compare supplier and subcontractor quotations to ensure competitive rates. Update internal pricing databases, cost libraries, and historical data.

2. Tendering & Proposals

Prepare and submit tender documents including BOQ pricing, technical clarifications, and compliance statements. Identify commercial, technical, and contractual risks in tender documents. Coordinate with engineering teams to prepare value engineering proposals. Assist in assembling tender submissions, pre-qualification packages, and presentations.

3. Coordination & Communication

Liaise with project managers, engineers, procurement, and finance departments for accurate costing. Communicate with vendors, subcontractors, and suppliers to obtain updated quotations and specifications. Attend pre-bid meetings, site visits, and clarification sessions with clients or consultants.

4. Cost Control & Budgeting

Assist in preparing project budgets and cost control reports. Review variations, change orders, and claims with accurate cost impact analysis. Evaluate actual site progress costs vs. estimated costs. Support project teams with periodic cost updates and forecasts.

5. Documentation & Reporting

Maintain organized records of estimates, quotations, supplier data, and subcontractor pricing. Prepare monthly and weekly estimation reports. Update management with tender status, cost trends, and price fluctuations. Ensure all estimates comply with company standards and client requirements.
