We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Cost Control Engineer specializing in Roads Operations and Maintenance (O&M) to join our team in Doha, Qatar. In this role, you will be responsible for managing and optimizing costs associated with road infrastructure projects, ensuring efficient resource allocation and budget adherence.
Develop and implement cost control systems and procedures for road O&M projects
Prepare and analyze cost estimates, budgets, and forecasts for ongoing and future projects
Monitor project expenses, identify cost variances, and recommend corrective actions
Collaborate with project managers and engineers to optimize resource allocation and improve cost efficiency
Conduct regular cost analysis and provide detailed reports to management
Evaluate and validate contractor invoices and change orders
Assist in the preparation of tender documents and contract negotiations
Implement value engineering techniques to identify cost-saving opportunities
Maintain accurate cost databases and historical records for future reference
Ensure compliance with company policies, local regulations, and industry standards
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field
Minimum 5 years of experience in cost control for infrastructure projects, preferably in roads operations and maintenance
Proficiency in cost control software such as Primavera P6 and MS Project
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen eye for detail
Excellent knowledge of cost estimation and budgeting techniques for large-scale projects
Familiarity with road construction and maintenance processes
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and data analysis tools
Strong communication and reporting skills, with the ability to present complex financial information clearly
Professional certification in cost engineering or project management (e.g., CCP, PMP) preferred
Experience working in the Middle East, particularly in Qatar, is advantageous
Ability to work effectively in a multicultural environment
Willingness to travel to project sites as required
