to lead our Roads O&M Control Room operations. The role involves supervising traffic monitoring, managing incidents, and ensuring the smooth operation of Intelligent Transport Systems (ITS) to improve road safety, reduce congestion, and enhance the overall experience for road users.
As a senior member of the team, you will oversee operators, manage safety-critical systems, and coordinate incident responses while ensuring compliance with company procedures and quality standards. This is a shift-based role covering 24/7/365 operations.
Key Responsibilities
Supervise and coordinate the work of Control Room Operators.
Monitor traffic conditions and apply tactical interventions through ITS systems.
Oversee incident and weather-related management across the road network.
Operate and manage road management ITS and other safety-critical systems.
Manage and operate traffic signals, CCTV systems, and dynamic message signs.
Supervise road closures, diversions, and provide real-time traffic information.
Liaise with internal and external stakeholders to ensure effective information sharing.
Support major events, abnormal loads, and hazardous load management.
Lead tunnel operation and incident management systems.
Ensure control room professionalism, confidentiality, and data security.
Provide feedback and recommendations to improve ITS and software systems.
Ensure adherence to Health, Safety, and Quality standards.
Qualifications & Experience
Essential:
Bachelor's degree or higher in Engineering (relevant discipline).
Minimum
10 years' experience
working in a roads control room with ITS operations.
Strong background in incident management and safety-critical systems.
Excellent knowledge of multi-platform ITS and modular system operations.
Experienced shift worker, flexible to work rotating schedules (24/7/365).
Excellent communication skills in English (verbal & written).
Valid Qatar Driving License.
Desirable:
Accreditation from the Institute of Asset Management (IAM) or equivalent.
Experience with Tunnel Management or Road Incident Management Systems.
Proficiency in transportation-specific Video Management Systems.
Ability to communicate in Arabic (verbal & written).
