In Similar Role: At least 2 years as Contracts & Procurement Manager
Sector Experience: Must have experience in Consultancy, Abu Dhabi projects, and road/infrastructure developments & Building.
Role Purpose:
To manage and oversee all contractual and procurement activities related to infrastructure and building projects, ensuring full compliance with project requirements, regulatory frameworks, and best practices in the region. The role demands a strong grasp of both contractual and commercial aspects, with hands-on experience in procurement strategies for both design consultants and contractors.
Key Responsibilities:
Contracts Management:
Draft, review, and manage FIDIC-based contracts and consultancy agreements.
Interpret and enforce contractual obligations to mitigate project risks and disputes.
Lead pre-contract and post-contract activities, including negotiation, contract administration, and change management.
Manage claims, variations, and dispute resolution in coordination with legal teams.
Ensure all contracts comply with local laws, client requirements, and project objectives.
Support tender evaluations and prepare contract award recommendations.
Procurement Management:
Develop and implement procurement strategies tailored to infrastructure and building development projects.
Lead procurement activities for design consultants, main contractors, and sub-consultants.
Ensure proper vendor prequalification, bid evaluation, and contract award processes.
Coordinate with technical teams to ensure alignment of procurement schedules with project timelines.
Monitor supplier performance and manage procurement KPIs.
Commercial & Cost Control:
Oversee project cost planning, budgeting, and commercial forecasting.
Monitor contractor invoicing, payment certifications, and cost reporting.
Evaluate and negotiate contractual claims and cost variations.
Interface with project controls for alignment on budget and commercial risk assessments.
Required Qualifications & Experience:
Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Quantity Surveying, or a related discipline (Master's preferred)
10+ years of total experience, with minimum 2 years in the same role
Proven consultancy experience on building infrastructure and road/infrastructure projects in the UAE
Strong working knowledge of Abu Dhabi local authorities' regulations and procurement norms
Expertise in FIDIC contracts, procurement systems, and contract law
Strong negotiation, communication, and leadership skills
