. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience preparing and presenting both Italian and Indian dishes at a high standard, working in a dynamic kitchen environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Preparation & Cooking:
Prepare a variety of
Italian
dishes (e.g., pasta, pizza) and
Indian
cuisine, ensuring each dish is made to the highest standards.
Execute food preparation and cooking in accordance with the menu, and adjust portions and recipes as necessary.
Ensure that pasta and pizza dough, sauces, and other elements are prepared from scratch.
Prepare and cook Indian dishes, including but not limited to curries, tandoori, biryanis, and other traditional specialties.
Quality Control & Presentation:
Ensure all dishes are cooked to perfection, maintaining consistency in flavor, texture, and presentation.
Maintain a high standard of cleanliness and hygiene in the kitchen.
Plate food attractively for service and oversee the garnishing of dishes.
Menu Development:
Collaborate with the Executive Chef or Head Chef to develop new menu items or seasonal specials inspired by both
Italian
and
Indian
culinary traditions.
Offer innovative ideas that combine traditional flavors with contemporary trends.
Assist in the pricing and planning of new dishes.
Kitchen Management & Team Collaboration:
Supervise junior chefs and kitchen staff during service.
Ensure all kitchen activities are in compliance with food safety and hygiene regulations.
Maintain stock levels of ingredients and order supplies when necessary.
Work closely with other kitchen team members to maintain an efficient workflow.
Customer Satisfaction:
Ensure that all meals are prepared according to customer preferences and dietary restrictions.
Take feedback from service staff and adjust dishes based on customer needs.
Qualifications:
Experience:
Proven experience as a Chef, preferably with
Italian cuisine
(pasta, pizza) and
Indian cuisine
.
Experience working in a high-volume kitchen environment, especially in Italian and Indian cuisine.
Skills:
Strong knowledge of
Italian
cooking techniques, including making fresh pasta, pizza dough, and sauces from scratch.
Proficiency in preparing a wide variety of
Indian dishes
, including tandoori, curries, and biryanis.
Excellent knife skills, food preparation, and presentation.
Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
Knowledge of food safety and hygiene standards.
Education:
Culinary degree or certification from a recognized institution is preferred.
Additional training in Italian and Indian cuisine would be an advantage.
