Key Responsibilities:

Diagnose and repair electrical faults in heavy machinery, including cranes, excavators, and forklifts. Perform wiring and component installations, including starters, alternators, lighting systems, and sensors. Troubleshoot and repair hydraulic, electronic, and pneumatic control systems. Conduct preventive maintenance on electrical systems to ensure optimal performance and reduce downtime. Operate and interpret diagnostic tools and software to identify issues in electrical circuits, CAN bus systems, and electronic control units (ECUs). Replace and repair faulty electrical components such as fuses, relays, switches, circuit breakers, and connectors. Install and maintain battery and charging systems, ensuring proper voltage regulation. Read and interpret technical manuals, wiring diagrams, and schematics for troubleshooting and repairs. Ensure all electrical work complies with safety regulations and industry standards. Maintain accurate records of repairs, parts used, and service history. Collaborate with mechanics and maintenance teams to diagnose and fix multi-system faults.

Qualifications & Requirements:

Diploma or Trade Certification in Electrical Engineering, Automotive Electrical, or a related field. Minimum 4 years of experience as a Heavy Machinery Electrician. Strong knowledge of heavy equipment electrical systems, including CAN bus and electronic diagnostics. Ability to read and understand technical manuals and electrical schematics. Experience using diagnostic tools such as multimeters, oscilloscopes, and ECU scanners. Basic knowledge of DC electrical systems (preferred but not mandatory). Physical ability to work in demanding environments and lift heavy parts. Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

Preferred Experience:

Experience with brands like Caterpillar, or JCB. Previous work experience in construction, transportation, or industrial sectors. Knowledge of preventive maintenance programs and fleet electrical management. Familiarity with PLC-based control systems and automated machinery.
