Job Summary:

The Construction Safety Manager is responsible for implementing, managing, and monitoring safety programs and procedures to ensure a safe work environment at construction sites. Working for a contracting company, this role ensures compliance with OSHA regulations, client safety requirements, and internal policies across all active projects.

Key Responsibilities:

Develop and implement site-specific safety plans and programs in compliance with OSHA, federal, state, and local regulations. Conduct regular site inspections and audits to identify hazards and ensure corrective actions are taken. Coordinate and lead safety meetings, toolbox talks, and training sessions for employees and subcontractors. Investigate incidents and accidents, document findings, and recommend corrective measures. Maintain accurate safety records, including injury logs, inspection reports, and training documentation. Collaborate with project managers, site supervisors, and subcontractors to promote a culture of safety. Ensure all workers are trained on job-specific hazards and safety procedures. Monitor site conditions to ensure safe work practices (e.g., proper PPE use, fall protection, equipment safety). Serve as a liaison with regulatory agencies during inspections or investigations. Stay current with safety trends, regulations, and best practices in the construction industry.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Occupational Safety, Construction Management, or related field (preferred). Minimum 5 years of experience in construction safety, preferably with a general contractor or subcontractor. OSHA 30-hour Construction Safety Certification (required). In-depth knowledge of OSHA standards and construction safety protocols. Strong communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a project team. Proficiency with safety management software and Microsoft Office Suite. Ability to travel to multiple job sites as needed.
