The Construction Safety Manager is responsible for ensuring a safe working environment on construction sites by developing, implementing, and enforcing health, safety, and environmental (HSE) policies. This role ensures compliance with local, state, and federal safety regulations while promoting a proactive safety culture across all levels of the project.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop and maintain the
Project Safety Plan
, policies, and procedures in line with legal requirements and industry best practices.
Conduct
site safety inspections
, audits, and risk assessments to identify and mitigate hazards.
Lead
incident investigations
and root cause analyses; report findings and ensure implementation of corrective actions.
Provide
safety training and toolbox talks
for workers, supervisors, and subcontractors.
Ensure all site activities comply with
OSHA, local safety regulations
, and company safety standards.
Maintain accurate records of safety statistics, incidents, near misses, and compliance reports.
Coordinate with project management, engineers, and subcontractors to integrate safety into planning and execution.
Ensure proper use of
personal protective equipment (PPE)
and enforce compliance across the site.
Oversee
permit-to-work systems
, emergency response plans, and evacuation procedures.
Liaise with regulatory authorities during inspections and ensure timely response to any citations or findings.
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Science, Construction Management, or a related field (preferred).
Minimum of 5 years of experience in a safety role within the
construction industry

Strong knowledge of
OSHA standards
, local health and safety regulations, and construction safety best practices.
Certifications such as
OSHA 30/OSHA 510, CHST, CSP, or NEBOSH
are highly desirable.
Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
Ability to train and influence site personnel at all levels.
Proficient in safety management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
Working Conditions:
Primarily field-based on active construction sites.
May require travel to multiple project locations.
Must be able to work in varying weather conditions and physically demanding environments.
