We are looking for an experienced and results-driven Construction Manager with a strong civil engineering background and at least 8 years of experience in landscape construction. The ideal candidate will be responsible for overseeing the construction process of landscape projects, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. The role requires leadership, technical expertise, and a deep understanding of both civil construction and landscape design.
Key Responsibilities:
Project Planning & Coordination:
Lead and manage all construction activities for landscape projects, from inception to completion. Ensure the projects are planned, resourced, and executed efficiently and in compliance with the project scope, specifications, and budget.
Team Management:
Supervise and coordinate with on-site construction teams, contractors, subcontractors, and suppliers. Provide clear instructions and guidance to ensure high-quality workmanship and adherence to project timelines.
Technical Leadership:
Apply your civil engineering knowledge to address complex construction challenges, provide technical support to the team, and ensure the accurate implementation of landscape design elements.
Budget and Cost Management:
Prepare and manage project budgets, ensuring cost-effective solutions without compromising quality. Monitor expenses, identify cost-saving opportunities, and handle any changes or issues affecting the financial aspects of the project.
Quality Control & Safety:
Implement strict quality control measures, ensuring that all construction work meets the required standards and specifications. Enforce health, safety, and environmental regulations on-site to maintain a safe and compliant work environment.
Schedule Management:
Develop and maintain detailed project schedules, tracking milestones and progress. Ensure timely delivery of materials, resolve delays promptly, and adjust schedules as necessary.
Client Interaction & Reporting:
Act as the main point of contact for clients, providing regular updates on project progress, addressing any concerns, and ensuring client satisfaction. Prepare comprehensive reports, including daily and weekly progress reports, budget status, and any risks or issues.
Procurement & Materials Management:
Oversee the procurement of construction materials, ensuring the right quality and quantity is available when needed. Manage vendor relationships and ensure timely delivery of materials.
Collaboration with Design Teams:
Work closely with landscape architects, designers, and engineers to ensure that the construction process aligns with the design intent. Provide feedback on the feasibility of design elements and suggest adjustments based on site conditions.
Regulatory Compliance:
Ensure that all landscape projects comply with local regulations, building codes, and environmental requirements in the UAE.
Qualifications & Requirements:
Experience:
Minimum of 8 years of experience in landscape construction with a strong civil engineering background. Previous experience managing large-scale landscape projects in the UAE is highly preferred.
Education:
A Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field. Professional certifications in construction management (e.g., PMP) would be an advantage.
Technical Expertise:
Strong knowledge of civil engineering principles, construction techniques, and landscape construction processes. Familiarity with landscape materials, irrigation systems, and hardscape/softscape design is essential.
Leadership Skills:
Proven ability to lead and manage teams, including subcontractors and suppliers. Strong decision-making and problem-solving abilities.
Communication Skills:
Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English (Arabic is a plus). Able to effectively liaise with clients, consultants, contractors, and project teams.
Project Management Skills:
Demonstrated experience in managing large, complex projects, including the ability to develop, manage, and adjust project schedules and budgets.
Health & Safety:
In-depth knowledge of health, safety, and environmental regulations specific to the construction industry in the UAE.
Software Skills:
Proficiency in project management software (e.g., MS Project, Primavera), AutoCAD (or similar drafting software), and MS Office Suite.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with sustainable landscape construction practices.
Experience with advanced irrigation systems and green technologies.
Knowledge of UAE construction standards, permits, and regulations.
