Construction Managers (Brownfield)
to lead the execution of complex brownfield projects, ensuring safety, quality, and compliance with EPC-3 standards while minimizing disruption to live facilities.
Role Overview
The
Construction Manager (Brownfield)
will be responsible for managing and supervising all construction activities within live Oil & Gas environments. This includes modifications, tie-ins, shutdowns, and upgrades of existing facilities. The role demands extensive technical knowledge of brownfield operations, strong leadership, and the ability to coordinate across multidisciplinary teams while maintaining the highest SHES standards.
Key Responsibilities
Project & Site Management
Lead and manage brownfield construction activities including shutdowns, tie-ins, and upgrades.
Supervise Project Engineers, Site Engineers, Supervisors, and HSE/QAQC teams.
Develop and implement
construction execution plans
and two-week lookaheads aligned with plant operations.
Coordinate daily with client representatives, consultants, and subcontractors to resolve challenges.
Ensure project milestones are achieved
on time, within budget, and with minimal operational impact
.
Resource & Cost Control
Manage manpower, materials, and equipment to avoid disruption to plant operations.
Approve material requests and verify against site requirements.
Monitor budget performance and implement cost-control measures.
Track productivity to prevent idle resources and unnecessary downtime.
HSE & Compliance
Champion a strong
safety-first culture
across all brownfield operations.
Enforce EPC-3 SHES requirements and client safety standards.
Conduct site audits, inspections, and toolbox talks.
Monitor site risks (heat stress, confined space, live tie-ins) and apply stop-work authority where needed.
Ensure all permits (PTW, SIMOPS, confined space, hot work) are secured before execution.
Quality & Reporting
Ensure construction works are executed as per approved drawings and specifications.
Review and approve daily/weekly progress reports.
Document delays, change orders, and claims with full supporting records.
Submit KPI reports covering team performance, safety, and quality metrics.
Qualifications & Skills
Education:
Bachelor's degree in Civil, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering (Master's preferred).
Experience:
Minimum
12-15 years
in Oil & Gas construction management, with proven
brownfield project experience in Qatar/GCC
.
Strong knowledge of EPC, shutdown, and live plant operations.
Familiarity with international codes and standards (API, ASME, ISO).
Proficiency in
Primavera P6, MS Project, and MS Office
.
Knowledge of BIM and construction management tools (preferred).
Certifications:
H2S and Confined Space (mandatory).
PMP or equivalent project management certification (preferred).
NEBOSH/OSHA safety training (advantage).
Personal Attributes:
Strong leadership and team management skills.
Excellent communication, negotiation, and problem-solving abilities.
Ability to work under pressure in
live operational facilities
.
Work Environment
Site-based within brownfield Oil & Gas facilities in Qatar.
Extended working hours and occasional shutdown/night shifts may be required.
Regular coordination with client SHES teams and contractors.
