Job Description

The Concrete Batching Plant General Manager oversees the full operational and strategic performance of the concrete production facility. This role ensures efficient production, product quality, regulatory compliance, workforce management, customer satisfaction, and continuous improvement across all plant operations. The General Manager provides leadership to plant staff, optimizes processes, and drives profitable growth.

Key Responsibilities

Oversee daily batching plant operations, ensuring efficient and timely production of concrete. Develop, implement, and monitor production schedules to meet project and customer requirements. Ensure proper operation and maintenance of batching equipment, mixers, loaders, silos, and trucks. Monitor raw material inventory and coordinate with suppliers to maintain adequate stock levels. Implement and enforce safety policies, environmental standards, and industry best practices. Ensure all concrete mixes meet required specifications, standards, and customer expectations. Collaborate with QA/QC teams to maintain testing protocols and resolve quality issues. Review and sign off on mix designs and adjustments. Prepare and manage annual budgets, forecasts, and performance reports. Negotiate contracts with customers, suppliers, and service providers. Train, mentor, and manage plant personnel, including operators, drivers, technicians, and supervisors. Conduct performance evaluations and enforce company policies and procedures. Foster a culture of safety, teamwork, accountability, and continuous improvement.

Regulatory Compliance & Safety

Ensure compliance with local, state, and national regulations related to concrete production, environmental impact, and workplace safety. Lead safety meetings, risk assessments, and incident investigations. Maintain records required for regulatory and internal audits.

Customer & Stakeholder Relations

Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, contractors, and suppliers. Resolve customer complaints, delivery issues, or product quality concerns promptly. Coordinate with logistics to ensure timely and accurate deliveries.

Education & Experience

Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Industrial Engineering, Business Administration, or related field (preferred). 15+ years of experience in a leadership role in concrete production or batching plant operations. Strong understanding of concrete mix designs, production processes, and maintenance. Excellent leadership, communication, and team-management skills. Strong knowledge of machinery, equipment maintenance, and plant automation systems.
