Position Summary
The Plant & Transport Manager will be responsible for the overall management and coordination of all batching plant operations and transport logistics. This pivotal role demands a hands-on leader who can ensure the timely production and delivery of quality concrete, optimize fleet performance, maintain stringent safety standards, and drive continuous improvement across both plant and transport functions.
Key Responsibilities
1. Plant Operations Management:

• Oversee the daily operations of the ready-mix concrete batching plant to ensure production targets, quality standards, and delivery schedules are met.
• Manage raw material inventory (cement, aggregates, admixtures) and coordinate with the procurement team to ensure uninterrupted supply.
• Implement and enforce strict quality control procedures in line with company and project specifications.
• Ensure the batching plant operates at optimal efficiency, minimizing waste and downtime.

2. Transport & Fleet Management:

• Manage the entire fleet of mixer trucks, including scheduling, routing, and dispatch to maximize on-time deliveries and vehicle utilization.
• Develop and implement efficient logistics plans to meet customer demands while controlling fuel and maintenance costs.
• Monitor fleet performance through telematics and KPIs (e.g., delivery times, idle time, fuel consumption).

3. Maintenance & Asset Management:

• Develop and execute comprehensive preventive maintenance schedules for both the batching plant and the transport fleet.
• Ensure all equipment, vehicles, and machinery are maintained to the highest safety and operational standards.
• Manage relationships with external service providers and parts suppliers.
• Control the maintenance budget and minimize vehicle off-road (VOR) time.

4. Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE):

• Champion a zero-incident safety culture, ensuring full compliance with all company HSE policies and local regulations.
• Conduct regular safety meetings, risk assessments, and site inspections.
• Investigate all incidents, near-misses, and equipment failures, implementing corrective actions promptly.

5. Leadership and Team Management:

• Lead, mentor, and motivate a diverse team of plant operators, mechanics, drivers, and dispatchers.
• Manage staffing, including recruitment, training, performance reviews, and development plans.
• Foster a collaborative and high-performance work environment.

6. Administration and Reporting:

• Prepare and manage operational budgets, controlling costs related to production, maintenance, and transport.
• Analyze operational data to generate reports on production volumes, plant efficiency, fleet performance, and overall unit cost.
• Implement strategies for continuous improvement in all areas of responsibility.

Qualifications and Experience

• Education: Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field is mandatory.
• Experience: A minimum of 10 years of experience in Plant & Transport Management, specifically within the Ready Mix Concrete industry.
• Technical Knowledge:
• In-depth understanding of batching plant operations, controls, and automation systems.
• Proven expertise in fleet logistics, transport management, and vehicle maintenance.
• Strong knowledge of concrete technology and quality control standards.
• Regional Experience: Previous experience working in the UAE or GCC is highly preferred, with an understanding of local market practices and regulations.
