The

Commis Sushi Chef

is responsible for assisting in the preparation and presentation of sushi and Japanese cuisine under the guidance of the Sushi Chef. This role ensures high standards of food quality, hygiene, and service are maintained at all times.

Key Responsibilities:

Assist in the preparation of sushi, sashimi, and other Japanese dishes. Prepare ingredients such as fish, vegetables, rice, and sauces according to recipes and portion standards. Maintain cleanliness and organization of the sushi workstation. Ensure all food is stored correctly and adheres to health and safety regulations. Support the Sushi Chef in plating and presentation to ensure visual appeal and quality. Follow hygiene, sanitation, and food safety standards at all times. Learn and develop skills in Japanese cuisine, knife techniques, and sushi preparation. Assist with inventory management, including receiving and checking deliveries. Perform other kitchen duties as assigned by the Sushi Chef or Head Chef.

Qualifications and Skills:

Prior experience in Japanese cuisine preferred but not mandatory (training can be provided). Knowledge of sushi preparation, knife handling, and basic cooking techniques is an advantage. Ability to work in a fast-paced kitchen environment. Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality. Good communication skills and ability to work as part of a team. Flexibility to work shifts, including weekends and holidays.

Working Conditions:

Fast-paced kitchen environment. Standing for long periods and handling sharp knives. Exposure to hot surfaces, cold storage, and kitchen equipment.

Pay: AED2,800.00 - AED3,000.00 per month
