Job Title: Commercial Manager Location: Remote with travel. Can be based anywhere in the world Reporting to: Global Commercial Director, Football


Role Overview:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and customer-focused Commercial Manager to join our commercial team. The Commercial Manager will play a crucial role in nurturing and expanding relationships with our existing clients, ensuring their satisfaction, and maximising revenue opportunities. This position offers an exciting opportunity for an individual with strong communication skills, a strategic mindset, and a passion for sports technology.


Key Responsibilities:

Client Relationship Management:
  • Build and maintain strong, long-lasting relationships with key clients, understanding their needs and expectations, ensuring they are met through regular communication and proactive support..
  • Act as a main point of contact for clients, addressing enquiries, resolving non-operational issues, and providing exceptional customer service.
Account Growth and Retention:
  • Develop account strategies to drive revenue growth, maximise client retention and identify upsell and cross-sell opportunities.
  • Coordinate with internal teams to fulfil contractual obligations and deliverables.
Strategic Planning:
  • Work closely with the MD Football, Global Commercial Director Football and other stakeholders to understand the overall business strategy and align client management activities accordingly.
  • Develop account plans outlining goals, engagement strategies, and tactics to achieve revenue targets - accountable for ensuring the plans are executed.
Market and Competitor Analysis:
  • Stay informed about industry trends, client needs, and competitor activities.
  • Provide insights and feedback to internal teams based on market intelligence.
Bid Preparation and Contract Negotiation:
  • Manage the bid process for renewals, upsells or other new business for assigned accounts.
  • Analysis of, and response to, RFPs for Hawk-Eye services, preparing relevant material such as presentations throughout the process.
  • Prepare pricing and cost models as part of the bid process.
  • Work with Business Development colleagues to convert new business opportunities into sales.
  • Collaborate with the legal and finance teams to negotiate and finalise contracts, ensuring terms are aligned with client expectations and company objectives.
Issue Resolution and Escalation:
  • Address client concerns, and issues in a timely and effective manner.
  • Escalate complex issues to appropriate internal stakeholders and ensure resolutions are achieved.
Customer Advocacy:
  • Act as a client advocate within Hawk-Eye, conveying client feedback and requirements to internal teams, such as Product.
  • Proactively identify opportunities for clients to showcase their success stories and positive experiences.
Performance Monitoring and Reporting:
  • Track key account metrics, such as revenue, usage, and satisfaction levels.
  • Provide regular reports and updates to management on account performance and trends.
  • Enter and track opportunities in the CRM.


Qualifications and Experience:

Essential:
  • Bachelor\'s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in account management or a similar client-facing role, preferably in the sports technology or related industry.
  • Strong negotiation and communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport and trust with clients.
  • Excellent organisational and time-management abilities, with a keen attention to detail.
Desirable:
  • Ability to understand technical products and services and effectively communicate their value to clients.
  • Strategic thinking and problem-solving abilities.
  • Results-driven with a track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets.
  • Familiarity with the sports industry, especially football, is a plus.
