The CNC Operator is responsible for operating CNC machines to machine rolls, guides, and other mill components within the roll shop. This role requires strong machining skills, attention to detail, and the ability to interpret technical drawings.
Key Responsibilities
Operate CNC machines (lathe/milling) to machine roll shop components.
Read and interpret technical drawings, dimensions, and tolerances.
Prepare tools, fixtures, and machine setups before production runs.
Inspect finished parts using measuring instruments (micrometer, vernier, gauges).
Perform basic CNC programming adjustments when required.
Maintain machine cleanliness and lubrication schedules.
Report deviations, tool wear, or equipment issues to supervisors.
Ensure strict adherence to safety and machining standards.
Requirements
Diploma / ITI in Mechanical / Machining Technology.
Minimum 2-4 years of CNC machining experience
in steel plants, heavy industry, or precision workshops.
Hands-on experience with CNC lathe or milling machines is required.
Ability to interpret machining drawings and maintain dimensional accuracy.
Knowledge of CNC G-code adjustments is preferred.
Physically fit and comfortable working in industrial shop environments.
