The Cartridge Technician is responsible for assembling, maintaining, and repairing roll cartridges and associated components used in the rolling mill. This role ensures the precision, alignment, and readiness of roll units for production operations.
Key Responsibilities
Assemble and disassemble roll cartridges according to mill specifications.
Inspect bearings, chocks, sleeves, seals, and other roll components.
Perform cleaning, lubrication, and replacement of worn parts.
Ensure proper alignment and torque settings during cartridge assembly.
Maintain records of cartridge servicing and component history.
Coordinate with roll shop supervisors for roll change schedules.
Assist during major overhauls and maintenance shutdowns.
Follow safety standards and maintain cleanliness in the roll shop area.
Requirements
ITI/Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
Minimum 1-3 years of experience
in roll shop, mechanical workshop, or heavy industrial maintenance.
Strong understanding of bearings, lubrication, and mechanical assembly.
Ability to read technical drawings and follow assembly procedures.
Physically fit for handling heavy components.
Good teamwork and communication skills.
