Department: Roll and Machine Shop Job Summary:
We are looking for an experienced CNC Operator to join our Roll and Machine Shop department in Abu Dhabi. The ideal candidate should have hands-on experience operating CNC machines, particularly in the steel manufacturing sector, with a strong understanding of machining processes and tooling. Key Responsibilities:
Operate and set up CNC machines (lathe, milling, or grinding) to perform precision machining of steel rolls and other components.
Read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and specifications.
Monitor machine operations to detect malfunctions and adjust controls as needed.
Perform quality checks to ensure parts meet dimensional and surface finish requirements.
Maintain and update machine logs and production records.
Conduct routine maintenance and troubleshooting of machines to minimize downtime.
Collaborate with the maintenance and engineering teams to ensure efficient workflow and problem resolution.
Adhere to health, safety, and environmental standards and company policies. Requirements:
Minimum 5 years of proven experience as a CNC Operator, preferably in the steel manufacturing industry.
Strong knowledge of CNC machine tools, programming basics (Fanuc, Siemens, or equivalent), and machining operations.
Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and use precision measuring instruments (e.g., calipers, micrometers).
Good mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
Familiarity with roll machining and repair will be a strong advantage.
Ability to work independently and in a team-oriented environment.
Willingness to work shifts if required. Education:
Diploma or technical certification in Mechanical Engineering, Machining, or related field.
