Job Description

JOB PURPOSELead and manage the Education and Dialogue department by conceptualising, planning and implementing strategy in line with the client\'s development strategy. Develop, create and implement an annual comprehensive education programme including Educational programs, Youth programs, Research and Publications and community based educational initiatives and interpretive materials designed to enhance the knowledge of interfaith and faith related to other topics.
Key AccountabilitiesStrategic Planning and Performance Management
  • Participate in the development and implementation of the Education and Dialogue Department strategy by cascading it to annual departmental action plans in coordination with the Strategy to ensure vertical and cross-functional integration with other interfacing sectors and departments across.
  • Support the Executive Director in leading the implementation of strategy to ensure the achievement of the department\xe2\x80\x99s overall objectives.
Education & Dialogue Programme Development & Management:
  • Develop, create and ensure implementation of annual comprehensive educational programme including Dialogue initiatives and interpretive materials designed to enhance the knowledge of interfaith and faith.
  • Ensure greater understanding and accessibility through various educational programs.
  • Develop and standardise educational materials for educators and students to support learning initiatives on interfaith in private/public schools and universities.
  • Develop and build staff capacities through academic courses, work placements and mentorship.
Content Development
  • Oversee the development of interpretive materials to support the comprehensive education programme enhancing the knowledge of interfaith and faith.
  • Ensure development of content for various programmes, heritage sites and events is consistently compliant to the overall signage and design.
Publication Development & Management
  • Develop and implement publishing strategies, standards and processes for all sites in coordination with the department/unit/site managers.
  • Ensure supporting publications are created for museums, exhibitions, pre-opening books and opening publications to introduce and translate the narrative of each museum.
  • Oversee and manage editorial content and consistency for translations across the owned sites and operated sites by developing culture glossary of Terms and Style guides.
  • Ensure and support the publications.
  • Study and analyse various proposals of different publications related to existing or new sites.
Relationship Management
  • Develop and implement a plan for establishing effective relationships with the educational institutes to promote.
  • Leads and guides possible tie ups / MOU\xe2\x80\x99s for Education and Dialogue with other local and global establishments related to the mandate. Monitor coordination efforts between client and relevant government and education entities for efficient programs and trainings rollout.
  • Manage programs in collaboration with the universities to infuse mandate in the curriculum and foster a sense of appreciation for interfaith knowledge.
Policies, Processes and Procedures
  • Manage the development of the Education & Dialogue department\xe2\x80\x99s policies, processes, and procedures in coordination with the operational excellence section and recommend improvements thereof to ensure compliance with quality management standards.
  • Monitor adherence to the Education & Dialogue department\xe2\x80\x99s policies, processes, and procedures to ensure all relevant policy compliance requirements are fulfilled.
Collaboration
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders on matters related to the Education & Dialogue department to facilitate the flow of information and also to build awareness in those areas
Day-to-Day Operations
  • Oversee the day-to-day operations of Education & Dialogue department providing guidance, encouraging teamwork and facilitating related professional work processes in order to achieve high performance standards and ensure that employees\xe2\x80\x99 activities are performed in timely, efficient, and effective manner.
  • Report regularly to the Executive Director of Culture on the operational activities of the Education & Dialogue department, challenges and issues faced, mitigations taken, etc. as required be to keep the Line Manager informed and updated on the department\xe2\x80\x99s activities.
Budget
  • Prepare and recommend the Education & Dialogue department budget in coordination with the Finance department and monitor financial performance versus the budget to ensure alignment with set budget guidelines.
People Management
  • Direct the process of effective departmental performance in coordination with HR by overseeing performance management, conducting and monitoring performance appraisals for the direct and indirect reports, manpower planning, recruitment, training and development of staff to ensure the creation of a high level of engagement and a motivated work environment.
  • Contribute to the achievement of Emiratisation requirements within the Education & Dialogue department through recruitment, development, and retention of UAE nationals and in line with Emiratisation initiatives.
EHS (Environment, Health and Safety)
  • Ensure all relevant environment, health and safety policies, procedures and controls are adhered to so that employee safety, legislative compliance, and a responsible environmental attitude can be guaranteed.
  • Comply with all relevant EHS guidelines, policies and procedures, report incidents and hazards in a timely manner, and reduce consumption of natural resources to support in protecting the environment and ensure a healthy and safe work environment.
Change Management
  • Enable a culture susceptible to change management by communicating the business case for change and benefits to staff so that employees are motivated to take a \xe2\x80\x98hands-on\xe2\x80\x99 and \xe2\x80\x98can-do\xe2\x80\x99 approach to new business challenges, participating in the development of new initiatives, meeting planned targets, and demonstrating preferred high-performance behaviours.
QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE, COMPETENCIES
  • Bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s OR Master\'s degree in law, development, education or equivalent.
  • Bachelor Degree Holders: 10 to 12 years of experience in Education/ Development preferably 6 years of which in managerial position OR
  • Post Graduate Holders: 8 to 10 years of experience in Education/ Development field; 2 years of which in managerial position.
