Position Overview

We are seeking a Click Chemist with expertise in bioorthogonal chemistry and drug conjugation strategies to lead the development of our therapeutic pipeline. The ideal candidate will bridge wet-lab chemistry with our AI-driven digital twin simulations, enabling rapid, modular, and precise therapeutic design.

This role requires a hands-on experimentalist and strategic thinker who can design, optimize, and validate click chemistry reactions in biological systems, while collaborating with computational and data science teams.

Key Responsibilities

Therapeutic Design Develop and optimize bioorthogonal click reactions (e.g., azide-alkyne cycloaddition, tetrazine ligation, SPAAC, etc.) for targeted drug conjugates and delivery systems. Apply click chemistry to bioconjugation, antibody-drug conjugates (ADCs), nanoparticle surface modifications, and biomolecule labeling. Work closely with AI/data teams to translate reaction kinetics and efficiency data into simulation models for digital twin validation. Research & Development Design and execute synthetic pathways for functionalized small molecules, polymers, and biomolecules using click chemistry methods. Evaluate reaction scalability, reproducibility, and integration into preclinical pipelines. Support the development of click chemistry-enabled diagnostics for precision health. Collaboration & Integration Partner with computational chemists, structural biologists, and AI scientists to feed real-world chemistry data into Prepaire's AI/ML-driven design loops. Interface with the Dubai lab team to establish SOPs, workflows, and throughput pipelines. Contribute to IP generation and patent strategy in the field of click chemistry-based therapeutics.

Qualifications

Education & Training

PhD in Organic Chemistry, Chemical Biology, Medicinal Chemistry, or related discipline. Postdoctoral or industry experience in bioorthogonal / click chemistry highly preferred.

Experience

3-7+ years of direct experience in click chemistry applications (academic or industry). Proven track record in developing bioorthogonal conjugation methods for biomolecules. Experience in therapeutic or diagnostic applications (ADCs, imaging agents, nanomedicine). Strong publication record or patents in the field of click chemistry.

Technical Skills

Mastery of CuAAC, SPAAC, IEDDA, SuFEx, and related click reactions. Analytical expertise in NMR, LC-MS, HPLC, fluorescence labeling, bioconjugation assays. Familiarity with protein chemistry, polymer chemistry, or nanomaterial functionalization. Understanding of drug delivery systems, pharmacokinetics, and biomolecular targeting.

Soft Skills

Innovative thinker with a translational mindset -- from bench to clinical application. Strong communication skills, able to collaborate across chemistry, biology, and AI disciplines. Entrepreneurial drive to contribute to a fast-paced startup environment.
