Civil Work Foreman - Steel Fixing & Shuttering Specialist Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Civil Work Foreman with extensive experience in steel fixing and shuttering operations, particularly in substructure and superstructure construction. The ideal candidate will oversee and coordinate on-site activities, ensuring that all reinforcement and formwork tasks are executed safely, efficiently, and to the highest quality standards.?

Key Responsibilities Steel Fixing

Supervision

: Oversee the placement and securing of steel bars and mesh in concrete structures, ensuring correct positioning for structural integrity.

Blueprint Interpretation

: Read and implement construction blueprints and technical drawings to guide reinforcement work.

Quality Assurance

: Ensure all reinforcement work meets specified standards and rectify any discrepancies promptly.

Team Coordination

Shuttering/Formwork

Formwork Installation

: Supervise the construction and installation of formwork systems for concrete structures, ensuring accuracy and alignment.

Material Management

: Coordinate the supply and use of materials required for shuttering tasks, minimizing waste.

Safety Compliance

: Enforce safety protocols during formwork operations to prevent accidents and ensure a safe working environment.

Inspection

Substructure & Superstructure Works

Substructure Oversight

: Manage construction activities related to foundations, basements, and other below-ground structures, ensuring stability and compliance with design specifications.

Superstructure Management

: Oversee the construction of above-ground structures, including columns, beams, and slabs, ensuring structural integrity and adherence to plans.

Coordination

: Collaborate with engineers, architects, and other stakeholders to synchronize substructure and superstructure activities.

Progress Monitoring

: Track project milestones and adjust schedules as necessary to meet deadlines.?
? Requirements and Qualifications

Experience

: Minimum of 5 years in a supervisory role within civil construction, with a focus on steel fixing and shuttering.

Education

: Diploma or degree in Civil Engineering or a related field is preferred.

Skills

: Proficient in reading and interpreting construction drawings and blueprints. Strong leadership and team management abilities. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. In-depth knowledge of construction materials, methods, and tools related to steel fixing and shuttering. Familiarity with safety regulations and quality standards.

Certifications

: Possession of relevant safety and construction certifications is an advantage.

Physical Requirements

: Ability to work in various weather conditions and perform physically demanding tasks.?
