Claywatt Construction is seeking a sharp, analytical, and detail-oriented

Civil Estimation Engineer

to join our technical and project management team. This role is central to our bidding and project planning processes and requires a professional with strong market awareness, costing accuracy, and practical knowledge of villa, townhouse, and low-rise construction projects across Dubai.

About the Role

As a Civil Estimation Engineer, you will be responsible for preparing competitive and well-structured cost proposals, ensuring accurate quantity take-offs, and identifying scope, risks, and opportunities within tender packages. You will work closely with the design, procurement, and project teams to ensure alignment between estimates and execution.

Key Responsibilities

Study and analyse tender documents including drawings, specifications, BOQs, and contractual terms Perform detailed quantity take-offs and cost estimations for civil and architectural works Prepare cost breakdowns, pricing sheets, and technical proposals for tender submissions Source and evaluate quotations from suppliers and subcontractors for pricing accuracy Coordinate with design, procurement, and project teams to validate scope and cost assumptions Identify value engineering opportunities and alternative cost-effective solutions Maintain a centralised cost database for historical pricing and benchmarking Support the Contracts team in post-award budget alignment, variations, and cost control inputs

Candidate Profile

Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related discipline Minimum of

5 years of relevant estimation experience

, with at least

3 years in Dubai

in villa and low-rise residential/commercial projects Deep understanding of

UAE market rates

, material specifications, and construction methodologies Strong experience with tendering procedures, rate analysis, and authority compliance Proficient in estimation software, AutoCAD, and Microsoft Excel; knowledge of Candy or BuildSoft is an advantage Highly analytical with exceptional attention to numerical accuracy and scope interpretation Strong communication skills for supplier negotiations and internal coordination UAE driving license is preferred
