Job Summary

We are seeking a refinery and petrochemical integration and optimization specialist to join SABIC Liquid to Chemicals Development division of LTC Readiness and SABIC Interface. The integration and optimization specialist primary role is to ensure good integration across the various LTC projects and individual units with a focus on integration and optimization opportunities to improve the project economics.

Responsibilities:
  • Improve LTC (Long-Term Collaboration) program projects economics.
  • Address opportunities for integrating hydrocarbons transferred between a refinery and a petrochemical facility, both within the same complex and with neighboring facilities.
  • Optimize refinery process flow and fuels blending.
  • Optimize steam cracking feed selection, process flow, and configuration.
  • Optimize aromatics feed, products, and recovery.
  • Run LP (Linear Programming) cases and process simulations.
  • Identify process interactions at the refinery/chemical plants interface.
  • Conduct techno-economic evaluations.
  • Issue performance reports.
  • Conduct KPI (Key Performance Indicator) and comparisons as required.
  • Undertake other duties as determined by the manager and director.
  • Evaluate new technologies.
  • Stay informed about technology developments in process plants and evaluate and approve technology developments for Central Engineering.
  • Support the arrangement and facilitation of technical knowledge exchange workshops with process technology licensors and Global Manufacturing facilities.
  • Participate in hazard operability (HAZOP) and safety integrity level (SIL) studies as required.
Requirements:
  • This role required candidate to permanently relocate at Dhahran, Saudi Arabia.
  • Hold a Bachelor\'s degree in Process Engineering, preferably Chemical Engineering, from a recognized and approved program. An advanced degree is preferred.
  • Minimum of fifteen years of working experience in refining and petrochemical process units, with at least five years in integration and optimization.
  • Enthusiastic and well-presented expat individual.
  • Strong interpersonal and speaking skills.
  • Culturally aware with pronounced customer service skills.
  • Full proficiency in the English language.
  • Familiarity with the following software: LP Simulation, MS Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint.
