Job Role:
The Chemical Plant Engineer implements and analyzes the processes, machinery, and equipment for producing various chemicals. He is responsible for working with other engineers to improve or develop new industrial strategies to enhance the efficiency of the plant. The role requires a wealth of technical and industry knowledge that allows the Chemical Plant Engineer to improvise when necessary and to solve any production issues quickly and competently.

\xe2\x80\x93 Supervise plant operations and workforce.
\xe2\x80\x93 Schedule and coordinate production work to meet tight deadlines and ensure plant operations are within the financial budget.
\xe2\x80\x93 Investigate and troubleshoot plant process issues and challenges.
\xe2\x80\x93 Collect data required to develop process improvement and modifications and test new processes for efficiency.
\xe2\x80\x93 Figure out the best production methods for the plant resulting in optimum productivity while eliminating wastage.
\xe2\x80\x93 Recommend purchase of machinery and equipment and coordinate with project engineers and specialists for installation.
\xe2\x80\x93 Ensure machinery and equipment work to their specification and appropriate capacities.
\xe2\x80\x93 Assess safety and environmental concerns.
\xe2\x80\x93 Maintain safe working conditions and compliance with health and safety legislation.
\xe2\x80\x93 Provide clear production guidelines and training to the workforce to maximize their performance.
\xe2\x80\x93 Modify/Create SOPs that conform to ISO international standards.
\xe2\x80\x93 Liaison with concerned government agencies and industry regulatory bodies to obtain and renew required certifications for the factory.
\xe2\x80\x93 Overseeing construction of new plant.

\xe2\x80\x93 Bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s Degree in Chemical Engineering preferred; MBA will be an added advantage.
\xe2\x80\x93 Adept knowledge in Health, Safety & Environment regulations for chemical plant operations. NEBOSH or equivalent certification.
\xe2\x80\x93 Proficiency in oral and written communication in English. Knowledge in Arabic language is an advantage.
\xe2\x80\x93 3+ years of experience in chemical plant manufacturing for the oil and gas industry.
\xe2\x80\x93 Must have the ability and technical knowledge necessary to create technical process recommendations, performance reports, and recaps.
\xe2\x80\x93 Ability to work under high pressure and result oriented.
\xe2\x80\x93 Excellent communication skills and ability to engage with senior leaders and workforce alike.
\xe2\x80\x93 Good organizational skills and ability to put together technical presentations.
\xe2\x80\x93 Ability to work in a multi-task, high paced environment, be self-directed and motivated, able to prioritize responsibilities, coordinate on-going projects, provide precise attention to detail.
\xe2\x80\x93 Must be able to work well independently and with groups and field operations.
