Responsibilities

Weatherford have an exciting opportunity to join the team at our flagship Abu Dhabi plant. The Cell Manager holds accountability of the overall operational performance of their product line(s), including Safety and Service Delivery. The role will ensure all assets and inventory are utilized cost effectively and at best financial advantage to the Company. The role will ensure that all product line (PL) personnel are technically qualified and competent to perform the tasks and duties required by utilizing the global training and development standards. They shall hold responsibility for the PL which forms part of the manufacturing. The role will partner with the Project Management, Planning, Procurement, Quality and Logistics to ensure they collaborate cohesively to meet and exceed financial targets, grow market share and increase operating margins. The role will also act as a conduit from the global manufacturing back through the client and PL management.

Roles and responsibilities will include,

SAFETY, SECURITY & COMPLIANCE

  • Maintains the highest standards of corporate governance, ensuring that all activities are carried out ethically and in compliance with Company's Security, Compliance & HSE policies, Management System, relevant laws, regulations, standards and industry practices and complies with the Company's Rules to Live By
  • Places Quality, Health & Safety, Security and protection of the Environment as core values while never intentionally placing employees, our processes, customers or the communities in which we live and work at risk
  • Seeks continual improvement in Health, Safety, Security & protection of the Environment, taking into account responsible care, process vulnerabilities, public, customer and employee inputs, knowledge and technology and best business practices to exceed customer expectations
  • Supervisors & Managers should demonstrate effective safety leadership for the health and safety arrangements of all subordinates and for any persons visiting them while on the Company premises
  • Responsible for leading and managing Safety and Compliance across the PL(s), taking a visible and active role in ensuring a culture of accountability that is continuously improving
  • The role requires a visible presence through the incumbent's leadership style to ensure compliance is achieved and to enhance the organization & commitment to safety
  • Ensure that Health & Safety are the responsibility of all employees
  • Actively participates in related investigations, monitors operational performance, and strives to minimize occurrence of non-conformities
QUALITY
  • Responsible for being familar with the Company's Quality policies and takes an active role in the compliance and improvement of the company management system
  • Maintains service quality as immediate priorities when working across all areas of the business and continually seeks areas for improvement
OPERATIONS
  • Accountable for the performance of the Shop Operations Supervisors and their personnel to ensure service delivery levels of quality, efficiency and safety achieve Company metrics
  • Accountable for ensuring that all resources and assets are effectively utilized on a continuous basis through effective interface with the Product Line
  • Responsible for ensuring a culture of accountability develops across the product line which is continuously improving
  • Accountable for ensuring the current cell standards, policies and procedures
  • Preparation of bid sum
COMMUNICATION
  • Maintains effective communications with all key stakeholders both internal and where appropriate external
  • Supervisors & Managers should clearly communicate expectations, roles and responsibilities to their reports
FINANCIAL
  • Accountable for managing the cell PLacross the plant, ensuring budgetary and operational expectations are met
  • Responsible for maximising financial performance, including effective use of assets, inventory, receivables and in and collaboration with Project Managers identifies opportunities to grow and improve on margins
  • Responsible for reviewing the cell business plan on a quarterly basis and takes responsibility for any remedial actions
  • All employees have an accountability to the organisation to be financially responsible whether they are in charge of a function budget or simply their own expenses
  • Costs incurred should be within approved budget, processed within agreed time frames & following the relevant financial policy and procedure
PEOPLE & DEVELOPMENT
  • Manage and coach cell personnel through visible leadership of the performance management, talent review and succession planning processes
  • Coordinate with the Plant Director on the growth of the plant and the related requirements for personnel
  • Employees have a responsibility for developing their own careers within the Company including completing all necessary function, compliance & business standards training to enhance their knowledge, skills and experience
  • Employees should engage on a regular basis with their line manager to discuss their personal performance, objectives and opportunities to enhance their skills and experience to support their career potential
  • Supervisors are expected to actively engaging their employees to support talent management through the company's performance management process, including but not limited to talent assessments, succession planning & regular coaching opportunities
  • Supervisors should collaborate with Human Resources & Training Development to drive strategies for the recruitment & retention of key personal & to foster an environment that supports the attraction & retention of a high performing talented workforce

Qualifications

Experience & Education

REQUIRED
  • University degree preferably in a discipline related (engineering-sciences-geology-Geophysics)
  • 10+ years manufacturing industry experience
  • 5+ years as Operations, Manufacturing, or Service Delivery Manager
  • Experience in the execution of day-to-day operations and product related projects
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

REQUIRED
  • Knowledge of finance, budgeting, and cost control
  • Knowledge of communications and public relation techniques.
  • Ability to develop and deliver professional presentations
  • Strong organizational and effective communication skills
  • Familiarity with reading, analyzing, and interpreting common scientific and technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents
  • Strong written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to communicate and interact with officials at all levels of government and clients.
  • Ability to work effectively across a diverse multicultural multilingual community
