Key Responsibilities:
Preparation of Sushi Ingredients: Properly prepare and portion sushi ingredients such as rice, fish, seafood, vegetables, and sauces according to established recipes and standards.
Sushi Making: Craft a variety of sushi rolls, nigiri, sashimi, and other sushi dishes with precision, creativity, and attention to detail.
Quality Control: Ensure the freshness, quality, and presentation of all sushi dishes, conducting regular inspections to maintain our high standards.
Inventory Management: Monitor inventory levels of sushi ingredients, communicate with the procurement team to order supplies as needed, and ensure proper storage and rotation of perishable items.
Sanitation and Food Safety: Adhere to strict food safety and sanitation guidelines to maintain a clean and hygienic working environment, including proper handling and storage of raw fish and seafood.
Team Collaboration: Work closely with other kitchen staff and chefs to coordinate food preparation and ensure timely service, contributing to a positive and efficient work environment.
Menu Development: Contribute ideas for new sushi dishes and menu items, participate in menu planning and development, and assist in creating visually appealing and innovative presentations.
Customer Service: Provide excellent customer service by addressing any special requests or dietary restrictions, engaging with guests to ensure satisfaction, and representing our establishment with professionalism and hospitality.
Training and Supervision: Train and supervise junior kitchen staff in sushi preparation techniques and procedures, providing guidance, feedback, and support as needed.
Continuous Improvement: Stay informed about industry trends and innovations in sushi preparation techniques, continuously develop and refine skills, and actively participate in professional development opportunities.
Qualifications:
Proven experience as a Sushi Chef or Chef de Partie specializing in sushi in a high-volume restaurant or culinary establishment.
Strong knowledge of sushi ingredients, preparation techniques, and presentation styles.
Excellent knife skills and attention to detail.
Ability to work efficiently and collaboratively in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
Understanding of food safety and sanitation regulations.
Creativity, passion, and dedication to delivering exceptional sushi experiences to guests.
Effective communication and teamwork skills.
Formal culinary training or relevant certification is preferred.
