Position Overview

The

Carpentry Foreman

oversees the production and installation of high-quality joinery products -- including kitchens, bathroom vanities, wardrobes, and TV units -- ensuring exceptional workmanship, accuracy, and efficiency throughout the factory and on-site when required. This role involves managing a team of skilled joiners and carpenters, coordinating with designers and project managers, and maintaining strict quality and safety standards.

Key Responsibilities

Supervise daily production activities in the joinery workshop. Allocate tasks to carpenters, machine operators, and finishers according to production schedules. Interpret and distribute shop drawings, cutting lists, and material specifications. Oversee fabrication and assembly of custom cabinetry, wardrobes, vanities, and entertainment units. Ensure all products meet design specifications, dimensional accuracy, and finish quality. Coordinate with design, procurement, and installation teams to resolve technical or material issues. Inspect completed work for quality assurance before dispatch or installation. Enforce compliance with safety procedures and workshop maintenance standards. Train and mentor apprentices and junior carpenters. Monitor inventory of timber, hardware, and fittings, requesting materials as needed. Report production progress, issues, and manpower requirements to factory management.

Skills & Qualifications

Proven experience in joinery production, especially in

kitchens, wardrobes, vanities, and custom cabinetry

. Strong understanding of joinery drawings, hardware systems (e.g., Blum, Hettich), and finishing techniques. Proficiency with woodworking machinery and hand tools. Leadership and team management skills. Excellent attention to detail and commitment to high-quality craftsmanship. Strong organizational and time management skills. Good communication skills for coordination with designers and site teams. Knowledge of

HSE (Health, Safety, and Environment)

regulations in workshop settings.

Preferred Background:

Minimum 5-7 years' experience in carpentry/joinery, including at least 2 years in a supervisory or foreman role. Technical qualification in Carpentry & Joinery or equivalent. Experience with modular furniture production or bespoke joinery manufacturing.
