Position Overview

We are seeking a skilled Carpenter with hands-on experience in reading and interpreting technical drawings and the ability to operate woodworking machinery and power tools. The carpenter will be responsible for fabricating, assembling, and installing wooden structures, furniture, and fixtures to meet project specifications and quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

Read, interpret, and execute detailed drawings, blueprints, and shop drawings. Measure, cut, shape, and assemble wood, plywood, MDF, veneer, and other materials. Operate woodworking machinery (panel saw, edge bander, CNC, drilling machine, sanding machine, etc.) safely and efficiently. Carry out joinery works including cabinets, wardrobes, TV units, counters, partitions, and other fit-out furniture. Ensure accuracy in dimensions, finishes, and detailing as per project requirements. Perform site installation works when required (fixing, alignment, adjustments). Follow safety procedures, maintain tools and equipment, and keep the workshop clean and organized. Work closely with the foreman and project team to meet production deadlines.
Requirements

Proven experience as a Carpenter / Joiner in a workshop or fit-out environment. Ability to read and understand technical drawings and cutting lists. Skilled in handling woodworking machines and hand tools. Knowledge of different types of wood, boards, laminates, and finishing techniques. Strong attention to detail and commitment to high-quality workmanship. Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines. Team player with good communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications

Experience in commercial fit-out, joinery, or interior projects. Knowledge of basic maintenance and troubleshooting of woodworking machines. Understanding of UAE joinery/furniture industry standards is an advantage.
