We are seeking an experienced and skilled Camp Cook to join our team in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. As a Camp Cook, you will be responsible for preparing delicious and nutritious meals for campers and staff in an outdoor setting. This role requires a passion for cooking, adaptability to camp conditions, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
Plan and prepare diverse, well-balanced meals for large groups of campers and staff
Ensure compliance with food safety and sanitation standards in all food preparation and storage areas
Manage kitchen inventory, place orders, and maintain proper stock levels
Operate and maintain kitchen equipment, ensuring cleanliness and proper functioning
Collaborate with camp staff to accommodate special dietary needs and restrictions
Create and follow menu plans that cater to various tastes and nutritional requirements
Adapt cooking techniques and recipes to outdoor camp settings and available resources
Supervise and coordinate kitchen assistants or volunteers as needed
Maintain a clean and organized kitchen environment at all times
Participate in camp activities and contribute to a positive camp atmosphere
Qualifications
Minimum 2-3 years of experience as a cook in a camp or similar setting
High school diploma or equivalent; culinary degree or certification preferred
Current food safety certification (e.g., ServSafe)
Excellent culinary skills with proficiency in various cooking techniques
Strong knowledge of food safety, sanitation, and proper food handling procedures
Experience in menu planning and ability to cater to diverse dietary needs
Proficient in kitchen equipment operation and maintenance
Strong organizational and time management skills
Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, outdoor environment
Excellent teamwork and communication skills
Physical stamina to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 pounds
Flexibility to work varying shifts, including early mornings, evenings, and weekends
Adaptability to work in Dubai's climate and outdoor camp conditions
Knowledge of various cuisines, including local and international dishes
