Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and results-driven
Business Development Manager (BDM)
with a strong background in the insurance Broker industry. The ideal candidate will have
3-5 years of proven experience in insurance sales
, with the ability to manage a client portfolio worth at least
$1 million
. This role focuses on acquiring new clients, nurturing long-term relationships, and driving sustainable revenue growth across general insurance lines.
Key Responsibilities
1. Client Acquisition & Portfolio Development
Leverage existing networks to onboard clients with portfolios of $1 million or more.
Identify, engage, and convert prospective clients to expand the company's insurance portfolio.
2. Sales & Revenue Growth
Consistently achieve and exceed sales targets by promoting general insurance products.
Maximize revenue through effective cross-selling and up-selling strategies.
3. Relationship Management
Build and maintain strong, long-term client relationships to ensure satisfaction and retention.
Act as a trusted advisor, delivering tailored insurance solutions aligned with client needs.
4. Market Research & Strategy
Monitor industry trends, competitor offerings, and evolving client requirements.
Collaborate with the sales team to design and execute strategic business development plans.
5. Coordination & Compliance
Partner with internal teams to ensure seamless onboarding, policy issuance, and client servicing.
Adhere to company policies, legal regulations, and industry standards.
6. Reporting
Prepare and present regular sales reports, highlighting revenue progress and client engagement metrics.
Key Requirements
Experience:
3-5 years in business development, sales, or account management within the insurance industry.
Portfolio Management:
Demonstrated success in managing client portfolios of at least $1 million.
Education:
Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Finance, or related field (preferred).
Skills:
Strong interpersonal and communication abilities.
Proven track record of meeting and exceeding sales targets.
Proficiency in CRM tools and MS Office Suite.
