Grant Thornton's Advisory practice provides our clients with valuable insight regarding business / technology transformations, managing risk and improving business performance. We assist our clients with their risk and regulatory needs, improving their processes and delivering frameworks. Our goal is to help our clients better understand their business by keeping them regularly informed about progress and by discussing transformation, financial, and regulatory developments that may impact their business.
Why become an Advisory Intern at Grant Thornton?
During your internship at Grant Thornton, you will be exposed to Advisory practices across various industries. You will have an opportunity to work alongside Partners, Managers, Associates and other interns as a member of the engagement team. Additionally, you will have an opportunity to learn new skillsets, be involved in office community activities, and build lasting relationships with members of the Grant Thornton team. Your internship will include, but will not be limited to, the following:
Working on a variety of client engagements in varying industries
Networking with your peers
Meeting with your mentor for regular feedback and professional development discussions
Connecting with fellow interns and Grant Thornton staff at social events
Participating in team-building exercises
Giving back to the community through outreach activities
Sharpening your leadership skills
Additional Responsibilities Include:
Researching industry trends and participating in the draft of various articles about risks associated with that particular industry
Participating in drafting of proposals and analytical reviews
Assisting with deliverables to clients in various phases of the project
Collaboratively working with team members while building rapport and strong relationships
Assisting with business development opportunities
What are we looking for in an Advisory Intern?
Interested candidates should display an affinity for learning and problem-solving skills. Interested candidates should be self-starters and should demonstrate strength in or a desire to build skills related to Grant Thornton's core values of: Collaboration, Leadership, Excellence, Agility, Respect and Responsibility.
Desirable Qualifications:
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, Economics and related fields
Proficiency in more than one language is a plus
Willingness to work additional hours and travel to various client sites (as needed)
Strong Microsoft Office skills
Excellent analytical, communication (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills
Strong technical aptitude and problem-solving skills
Effective project and time management skills for handling multiple priorities and simultaneous projects
Enthusiasm to learn through a combination of structured, on-the-job and self-directed training
Ability to work efficiently and effectively in a complex team environment with strong attention to detail
