Job Summary:

The Building Watchman is responsible for ensuring the safety, security, and proper upkeep of the building premises. The role involves monitoring entry and exit points, preventing unauthorized access, reporting incidents, and assisting in maintaining a safe environment for staff, tenants, and visitors.

Key Responsibilities:

Monitor and control entry and exit of visitors, vehicles, and staff. Conduct regular patrols of the building and surrounding areas to ensure safety and prevent theft, vandalism, or damage. Check doors, windows, gates, and equipment to ensure they are secure after working hours. Respond to alarms or disturbances and report any suspicious activity immediately. Maintain a daily log of activities, observations, and incidents. Assist in emergencies such as fire, evacuation, or first aid situations. Coordinate with maintenance or housekeeping teams for any observed issues (lighting, leaks, hazards, etc.). Ensure cleanliness and proper upkeep of the watchman's post and security areas. Verify that deliveries and service providers entering the premises are properly authorized. Support administrative duties such as logging visitor details or issuing access passes.

Qualifications & Skills:

High school diploma or equivalent. Prior experience as a watchman or security guard preferred. Basic knowledge of security systems (CCTV, alarms, etc.). Good communication and observation skills. Physically fit and alert at all times. Trustworthy and able to handle confidential information. Willing to work shifts, weekends, and public holidays as required.
