Job Description

Operation and maintenance

Operate boom truck controls to lift, move, load, and unload materials and equipment according to verbal, written, or signal instructions. Perform pre-operation inspections of the boom truck and crane to check for safety issues. Determine if any parts are malfunctioning and report any issues to a supervisor or the maintenance department. Maintain the truck and crane by performing daily checks and ensuring it is clean and properly parked. Locate underground services, like pipes and wires, before beginning work. Perform minor repairs or emergency adjustments to the equipment as needed.
Safety and compliance

Follow all company, local, and federal safety regulations and procedures. Place outriggers and blocks to ensure stability and prevent capsizing when lifting heavy loads. Coordinate with ground crew and other workers to ensure a safe and efficient workflow. Take necessary actions to avoid potential hazards and obstructions, such as utility lines or other equipment.
Documentation and administration

Complete all necessary paperwork, including job tickets, service reports, and inspection logs. Maintain accurate logs of equipment usage and inspections. Obtain and manage lifting permits as required.
General responsibilities

Drive the boom truck to and from job sites. Assist with other tasks as needed, such as helping with construction or maintenance work. Study instructions and plans to understand work requirements.
