Overview of the role To ensure that the assigned body repairs are executed in line with Principle’s established work procedures and specifications, time standards and housekeeping standards so that the overall objectives of productivity and quality are met or exceeded.
What you will do

• Operations: Execute assigned jobs according to principle’s established work procedures, specifications and time standards.
• Quality: Provide quality workmanship for customer satisfaction. Minimise repeat jobs which lead to loss of time and material.
• Safety and Housekeeping –
  • Ensure use of safety equipment/gear and follow all safety and environmental conservation procedures
  • Ensure cleanliness of the workplace, tools, equipment and of the customer’s car being serviced.
  • Carry out work with care ensuring not to endanger the life either of themselves or others by theirs acts or omissions whilst complying with health and safety requirements of the company and preventing any harm to the environment.
• Time management – Planning and scheduling when assigned with multiple jobs
• Competencies –
  • Denting and Body Technician
  • Re-shaping sheet metal with hammer and dolly.
  • Application and sanding of putty
  • Basic welding
  • Carry out level 1 repair above.
  • Remove and reinstall body parts.
  • Repair damaged panels with washer welder
  • Reshaping through metal shrinking
  • Working with different types of welding ie. spot, Mig, Electric, washer etc.
  • Plasma cutting
  • Windshield replacement - rubber weather strip type and adhesive type.
  
  

• PRO-Body Technician
  • Carry out Level 2 repair above
  • Reshape complex panel surface using washer welder.
  • Repair by panel cutting and joining.
  • Quarter panel cutting and joining
  • Repair by use of Body Aligner Equipment.
• Training and Developments – Keep up with new technology, work procedures, time standards and relevant technical know-how to maintain or improve work productivity and quality. • Perform other tasks assigned by immediate superior or manager, if necessary, Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed. Perform all duties and responsibilities mentioned in the related business SOPs
• Discipline – Maintain the discipline of the service establishment through strict adherence of company rules, regulations and procedures.
• Comply with the ALAC Quality Management System and participate with organization’s improvement activities

Required skills to be successful

• Should read, understand and write English well enough to follow Toyota Training, Panel repair and replacement skills.
• Following instructions and procedure
• Delivering Results and Meeting standard expectations

About the Team

• Reports to the Team Leader/ Foreman and will be an individual contributor

• SSC/Trade certificate/Vocational Training
• 3 - 5 years in a reputed automotive workshop
