The BBQ Cook is responsible for preparing high-quality barbecue dishes in a timely and professional manner, ensuring consistency, flavor, and adherence to food safety standards. This role involves grilling, smoking, and marinating meats and vegetables, as well as maintaining cleanliness and organization in the cooking area.
Key Responsibilities:
Prepare barbecue items including meats, poultry, seafood, and vegetables using grilling, smoking, and other methods.
Create and maintain signature barbecue flavors through proper seasoning, marination, and cooking techniques.
Operate and maintain barbecue grills, smokers, and other cooking equipment according to safety standards.
Ensure all dishes are prepared to meet quality and presentation standards.
Monitor food storage and handling to maintain freshness and prevent contamination.
Maintain cleanliness and organization of the workstation, including cleaning grills and utensils after each use.
Follow health and safety regulations, including wearing proper protective equipment and using sanitation tools.
Manage inventory for barbecue-related ingredients and supplies.
Collaborate with kitchen staff and servers to ensure smooth food service operations.
Qualifications:
Proven experience as a BBQ cook or grill specialist.
Knowledge of barbecue techniques, cuts of meat, and smoking methods.
Familiarity with food safety and sanitation standards.
Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
Excellent time-management and organizational skills.
Work Conditions:
May require standing for extended periods and working in hot environments.
Flexible hours, including weekends and evenings, depending on operational needs.
