Job Summary The Role of the Barista is to contribute to our success by providing legendary customer service providing them with exemplary service, quality beverages and products, and maintaining a clean and comfortable store environment. The Barista is responsible for acting in accordance with, and as an ambassador for our High-Class Restaurant guiding principles, culture, and values; embracing the coffee and beverage culture and keeping it at the heart of everything we do. Responsibilities . Prepare alcoholic and non-alcohol beverages including coffee for restaurant patrons . Interact with customers, take orders, and serve snacks and drinks . Assess customersaEUR(TM) needs and preferences and make recommendations . Mix ingredients to prepare cocktails . Plan and present bar menu . Restock and replenish bar inventory and supplies . Stay guest focused and nurture an excellent guest experience Comply with all food and beverage regulations . Discovering and responding to customersaEUR(TM) needs, providing product sampling and demonstrations to deliver the customers. . Follow the operational policies and procedures, including those for cash handling, security and health and safety to ensure the safety of self, customers, and partners always. . Preparing foods, such as sandwiches or baked goods, and grinding and blending coffee beans, brewing coffee and tea, and serving items to customers. . Packaging food and beverages for sale. . Selling coffee and tea blends and brewing equipment, highlighting the differences between items, and educating customers about brewing methods. . Cleaning and restocking work and dining areas, emptying trash and sanitizing equipment and utensils. . Learning about brewing methods, beverage blends, food preparation, and presentation techniques to improve food quality. . Recommend signage/menu/items to displays to attract customers. . Taking inventory and replenishing items in display cases, at tables, or behind the counter. . Working as part of a fun, high-energy team. . Adhering to all food safety regulations and quality controls. . Promotes the beverage list . Welcomes customers by determining their coffee interests and needs. . Educates customers by presenting and explaining the coffee drink menu, answering questions. . Sells coffees and coffee grinding and brewing equipment by explaining differences in coffee beans and coffee preparation machines; demonstrating how brewing equipment operates. . Prepares and sells coffee drinks by following prescribed recipes and preparation techniques for coffee drinks, such as, espresso, espresso lingo, caffe latte, and cappuccino. . Generates revenues by attracting new customers; defining new and expanded services and products. . Maintains inventories by replenishing coffee bean supply; stocking coffee brewing equipment; maintaining supplies, pastries, and cookies for coffee bar. . Keeps equipment operating by following operating instructions; troubleshooting breakdowns; maintaining supplies; performing preventive maintenance; calling for repairs. . Maintains safe and healthy work environment by following organization standards and sanitation regulations. . Improves quality results by studying, evaluating, and re-designing processes; implementing changes; maintaining and improving the appearance of the store and coffee bar. . Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading coffee, retail trade, and food service publications; maintaining personal networks. . Enhances coffee shop reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments. Knowledge, Skills, Abilities . Ability to actively listen and verbally communicate with a wide range of people daily . Keen awareness of the value of customer service . Willingness to work a changing shift schedule, including early mornings . Aptitude for learning in on-the job in a fast-paced environment . Must use logic and reasoning to identify solutions and alternatives for a successful outcome. Must verify information by compiling, coding and calculating data. .
