Job Summary:

We are seeking a friendly and skilled Barista to join our coffee shop team. The Barista will be responsible for creating high-quality coffee drinks, providing excellent customer service, and maintaining a clean, welcoming environment. The ideal candidate will have a passion for coffee, a strong work ethic, and an enthusiasm for delivering great customer experiences.

Key Responsibilities:

Prepare and Serve Coffee:

Brew and serve coffee and tea beverages according to customer preferences and company standards. Prepare espresso-based drinks such as lattes, cappuccinos, and Americanos.

Customer Service:

Greet customers with a friendly, positive attitude, and take their orders. Assist customers in choosing the right drinks and pastries.

Maintain Cleanliness:

Ensure that the coffee station, equipment, and seating areas are clean and organized. Follow proper sanitation procedures.

Handle Cash and Payments:

Accurately process customer payments, handle cash, credit cards, and mobile payments. Issue receipts and make change when necessary.

Stock and Inventory:

Monitor stock levels of coffee beans, syrups, pastries, and other supplies. Assist in inventory management and replenishment.

Team Collaboration:

Work closely with other baristas and staff to ensure a smooth operation. Provide support to team members during busy periods.

Customer Engagement:

Engage with customers, building relationships and ensuring they have a pleasant experience. Offer suggestions for new products or special promotions.

Compliance:

Adhere to all food safety regulations, company policies, and procedures.

Qualifications:

Experience:

Previous experience as a barista or in a customer service role is preferred, but not required.

Skills:

Strong knowledge of coffee drinks and preparation methods. Ability to operate coffee-making equipment, such as espresso machines, grinders, and brewers. Excellent communication and customer service skills. Ability to multitask and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment. Attention to detail and ability to follow instructions.

Personal Attributes:

Friendly, approachable, with a positive attitude and a strong work ethic.

Physical Requirements:

Ability to stand for long periods, lift up to 25 lbs, and work in a fast-paced environment.
