Job Summary:

As a Junior AV Technician, you will play a crucial role in supporting the audio-visual needs of Al Futtaim Education Foundation (AFEF Schools - Deira International School and Universal American School). This mid-level position involves assisting with the setup, maintenance, troubleshooting, and operation of audio-visual equipment and systems to ensure seamless AV educational experiences for students and faculty. You will work under the supervision of Lead AV technician and gain valuable experience in AV technology.

Key Responsibilities:

Equipment Setup:

Assist in setting up and configuring audio-visual equipment, including projectors, sound systems, microphones in auditoriums/event locations, and other educational spaces.

Ensure that all equipment is properly connected and functioning before the events.

Maintenance and Troubleshooting:

Perform routine maintenance on AV equipment to ensure optimal performance.

Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues that may arise during meetings, or presentations.

Collaborate with Lead AV technician to diagnose and repair complex equipment problems.

Technical Support:

Provide technical support to Staff, users and presenters during and events.

Assist users in operating AV equipment and software, offering guidance and troubleshooting assistance as needed.

Cable Management:

Maintain a tidy and organized cable management system to prevent hazards and ensure efficient setup and dismantling of equipment after events.

Inventory Management:

Assist in keeping an inventory of AV equipment, including tracking and ordering necessary supplies and replacements.

Ensure the equipment\'s are checked on a daily basis and notify replacements etc

Monthly Preventive maintenance check on the AV equipment.

Collaboration:

Collaborate with faculty and staff to understand their AV requirements for various educational activities.

Work closely with Lead AV technicians to execute complex AV setups and projects.

Documentation:

Maintain accurate records of AV equipment, configurations, and maintenance activities.

Assist in updating and creating documentation for AV procedures and user guides.

Professional Development:

Stay up-to-date with advancements in AV technology through training and self-study.

Seek opportunities to learn from Lead technicians and gain hands-on experience.

Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent; relevant coursework or certification in audio-visual technology is a plus.

Strong interest in AV technology and a willingness to learn and adapt to new equipment and software.

Basic knowledge of audio-visual equipment, connectors, and signal flow this includes Mixers, Microphones etc.

Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.

Effective communication and interpersonal skills.

Ability to work collaboratively in a team and take direction from Lead AV technician.

Attention to detail and the ability to work efficiently under pressure.

Physical ability to lift and move AV equipment and work in various educational spaces.

Weekend events setup might be there.
