Core responsibilities

Drafting and design:

Create and modify detailed architectural, MEP, and joinery drawings using AutoCAD. Prepare floor plans, elevations, sections, and detailed joinery components.

Project documentation:

Develop technical documentation, including shop drawings, as-built drawings, and authority submission drawings.

Technical accuracy:

Produce clear and concise documentation based on sketches, specifications, and site measurements. Ensure all drawings accurately reflect dimensions, materials, and finishes.

Coordination and collaboration:

Work with designers, project managers, engineers, and production teams to integrate design changes and ensure accuracy.

Quality control:

Review and interpret design concepts, sketches, and existing drawings to identify and correct errors.

Site support:

Visit construction sites to take measurements and gather necessary information for accurate drawings.

Production support:

Create detailed drawings, such as cutting lists for fabrication, to enable production and installation.
Required skills and qualifications

Technical skills:

Advanced proficiency in AutoCAD for 2D and 3D drafting is essential. Familiarity with other software like SketchUp or Photoshop is often a plus.

Design knowledge:

Strong understanding of interior design principles, including space planning, materials, and finishes.

Attention to detail:

Meticulous and able to produce highly accurate and detailed drawings.

Communication:

Ability to clearly communicate technical information and collaborate effectively with different teams.

Organizational skills:

Strong time management skills to meet project deadlines and the ability to manage revisions.

Experience:

Previous experience as an AutoCAD Draftsman 2-3 years, preferably in interior fit-outs, is often required.
