Job Description

Oversee day?to?day workshop operations to maximize productivity, ensure high-quality service delivery, and enhance customer satisfaction?--?while improving profitability and maintaining safety, compliance, and equipment uptime. You'll manage staff schedules, workflow, parts availability, KPIs, and customer engagement. Ideal candidates are hands-on technical leaders able to support technicians and optimize processes?.

Key Responsibilities

1. Workshop Operations Management

Plan and manage workshop activities (e.g., job allocation, hoist bay assignments, shift rosters) to meet deadlines and service targets?Interview Questionsqer.ae. Monitor technician productivity, labor-hour utilization, turnaround time, and first-time fix rate. Maintain workshop cleanliness, safety, and organization; manage tool calibration and equipment servicing?jobs. Enforce standard operating procedures, quality control checks, and manufacturer repair protocols.
2. Team Leadership & Development

Supervise technicians, advisors, and support staff (typical team size ranges from ~25 to 70) Conduct performance feedback, training needs assessments, and coaching to elevate skill levels and troubleshoot technical issues?jobs. Partner with HR and leadership on recruitment, certification compliance, and succession planning.
3. Customer & Stakeholder Interaction

Engage with customers at intake, provide clear estimates, explain repair work, and follow up post?service?Interview . Liaise with parts, service sales, and procurement teams to ensure readiness and efficiency.
4. Commercial Performance & Reporting

Oversee preventive maintenance and calibration cycles for tools and machinery in coordination with procurement. Monitor inventory levels; arrange ordering of spare parts, consumables, and new equipment proactively?jobs.

Qualifications & Experience

Education:

Bachelor's degree (mechanical engineering or equivalent preferred); technical diploma accepted in cases where manufacturer training applies further.

Experience:

5-10+ years in workshop supervision or technical leadership; ideally 3-5 years managing a team of technicians in a dealership or independent garage?Interview.

Certifications:

Manufacturer?authorized Workshop Manager certificate (e.g. Mercedes, JLR, Toyota) is highly desirable?.

Licenses:
