Job Description

We are looking for a

Network & Telecom Security Testing Engineer (L2)

to support security testing, validation, and risk mitigation across

telecom core and enterprise network environments

.
The role focuses on

telecom signaling security, network security testing, fraud detection, and security assurance

, working closely with engineering, operations, and vendors.

Key Responsibilities

Plan, execute, and document

network and telecom security testing activities

Perform

security assessments and risk analysis

across telecom core, signaling, and enterprise networks Test, validate, and assess security controls including:

Firewalls:

FortiGate, Palo Alto, Juniper SRX, F5 AFM

WAF / IDS / IPS:

F5, FortiWeb, FortiGate

VPNs:

IPSec, SSL VPN

DDoS protection:

Arbor or equivalent platforms Analyze and mitigate

telecom-specific security threats

, including: SS7 & Diameter attacks Wangiri, CLI spoofing, robocalls Flash calls and SMS fraud Work with

telecom signaling and core protocols

: SS7, SIGTRAN, Diameter SIP, RTP, SMPP, GTP Support

security validation, acceptance testing, and handover

for telecom projects Integrate security platforms with

monitoring and logging systems

(SIEM / ELK / proxy solutions) Support

vendor evaluations, RFP activities, and security inventory management

Prepare

security reports, KPIs, and audit documentation

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure compliance with

security frameworks and regulatory requirements

Mentor junior engineers (Senior level)

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in

Engineering, Telecommunications, Cybersecurity, IT

, or related field

3+ years

of experience in

telecom security, network security testing, or security validation

Strong exposure to

telecom core networks and signaling environments

Hands-on experience with

security testing, validation, or security assurance

Solid understanding of

telecom protocols

(SS7, Diameter, SIP, SMPP, GTP) Experience with

firewalls, WAF, IDS/IPS, VPNs, and DDoS platforms

Familiarity with

penetration testing or security assessment methodologies

Scripting exposure (

Python, Bash, Shell

) is a plus Strong documentation, reporting, and stakeholder communication skills

Preferred Qualifications

Experience working with

telecom operators or large-scale service provider networks

Hands-on exposure to

SS7/Diameter firewalls and signaling security platforms

Experience in

telecom fraud prevention and roaming security

Exposure to

compliance audits, security KPIs, and regulatory requirements

Ability to guide and mentor junior engineers

Role Level Guidance

Associate Engineer:

Strong security fundamentals + telecom exposure, limited signaling security experience

Senior Engineer:

Proven SS7/Diameter security, telecom fraud handling, and security testing ownership

Pay: AED14,000.00 - AED16,000.00 per month
