Job Description

Job Purpose

To manage and control the receipt, storage, issuance, and inventory of construction materials, tools, and equipment at the site warehouse or store in accordance with company policies and project requirements.

Key Responsibilities

Receiving and Inspection

Receive incoming materials, tools, and equipment; inspect for quantity and quality. Ensure received items match delivery notes, invoices, and purchase orders. Report any discrepancies or damaged goods to the Procurement or Site Engineer.

Storage and Inventory Control

Properly label, store, and organize materials for easy identification and access. Maintain accurate stock levels and conduct periodic physical inventory counts. Ensure secure storage and minimize damage, loss, or theft.

Issuance and Record Keeping

Issue materials and tools to site personnel based on approved requisitions. Maintain manual or electronic records of stock movements (inward/outward). Update inventory management software or logbooks regularly.

Documentation and Reporting

Maintain records such as delivery notes, material requests, issuance slips, and inventory sheets. Prepare and submit regular stock reports to the Project Manager or Procurement Officer.

Coordination and Compliance

Coordinate with procurement, logistics, and site teams to ensure timely supply of materials. Ensure compliance with safety and housekeeping standards in the storage area. Follow company policies related to materials handling, disposal, and documentation.

Tools and Equipment Control

Track tools issued to workers and ensure their return. Arrange for calibration, servicing, or repair of tools and equipment when required.

Qualifications and Skills

High School Diploma or equivalent (additional technical education preferred) 2-5 years of experience as a storekeeper, preferably in the construction sector Knowledge of construction materials, tools, and equipment Basic computer skills (MS Excel, inventory software) Strong organizational and communication skills Ability to work independently and manage time effectively Familiarity with safety procedures in a construction environment
