Position Overview
This Assistant Resident Engineer - Water role supports the delivery of major water infrastructure projects across Abu Dhabi. The position provides technical oversight, site supervision, documentation control, and coordination for water systems including pipelines, drainage networks, and treatment facilities. The goal is to maintain project quality, safety, and performance while ensuring full compliance with engineering specifications and regulatory standards in Abu Dhabi.

Key Responsibilities

• Support the Resident Engineer in supervising water infrastructure works including pipelines, drainage networks, treatment systems, and associated utilities.
• Conduct routine site inspections to ensure compliance with approved drawings, safety standards, and quality specifications.
• Verify that all water-related activities follow project requirements and regulatory guidelines.
• Provide technical input to contractors, consultants, and project teams for issues related to potable water, stormwater, and wastewater systems.
• Assist in resolving technical challenges on-site to keep work progressing efficiently.
• Oversee inspection and testing activities for materials and workmanship related to water systems.
• Coordinate commissioning activities and ensure full documentation during handover.
• Maintain project records including progress reports, inspection logs, and approvals.
• Identify and document issues or discrepancies and escalate them to the Resident Engineer.
• Review and approve shop drawings, method statements, and material submittals related to water works.
• Monitor project schedules for water-related activities and assist in mitigating potential delays.
• Coordinate with contractors, authorities, and stakeholders to ensure smooth execution.
• Manage project documentation for water systems, ensuring proper archiving and traceability.
• Monitor environmental practices on-site, ensuring compliance with sustainability and regulatory requirements.

Ideal Profile

• Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related discipline.
• Experience in water, drainage, and wastewater systems on infrastructure projects is preferred.
• Knowledge of water system construction, inspection, and commissioning.
• Understanding of UAE codes, standards, and authority procedures.
• Ability to interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and technical documents.
• Strong communication and coordination skills for working with contractors and authorities.
• Good analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Able to work under pressure in a fast-paced construction environment.
• Strong record-keeping and reporting skills.
