Job Description

Job Purpose:

To support the Production Manager in overseeing day-to-day operations on the shop floor within the plastic manufacturing unit. This role ensures production targets are met while maintaining quality, safety, and efficiency standards. The Assistant Production Manager plays a key role in managing workforce, monitoring machine performance, and optimizing plastic processing operations such as injection molding, extrusion, blow molding, or thermoforming.

Key Responsibilities:

Assist in planning and scheduling daily production activities to meet demand and delivery deadlines. Supervise production processes including molding, extrusion, or other plastic conversion methods. Monitor machine performance, troubleshoot issues, and coordinate with maintenance for timely repairs. Ensure production is carried out efficiently, on time, within budget, and to standard. Enforce safety and quality compliance on the production floor. Work closely with the Quality Control team to identify defects and implement corrective measures. Lead and motivate line staff, including machine operators, helpers, and supervisors. Monitor raw material usage and coordinate with inventory teams to ensure material availability. Prepare daily production reports and assist in data analysis for process improvement. Support lean manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives to minimize waste and enhance productivity. Assist in training new production staff and upskilling existing team members.

Qualifications and Experience:

Bachelor's degree or diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Polymer Engineering, Industrial Production, or a related field. 2-5 years of relevant experience in a plastic manufacturing environment. Strong knowledge of plastic processing techniques (injection molding, blow molding, extrusion, etc.). Familiarity with production planning tools and ERP systems. Good leadership, organizational, and problem-solving skills. Ability to work in a fast-paced and demanding environment.

Working Conditions:

Factory floor environment with exposure to machinery, heat, and noise. May involve shift work, weekends, and overtime depending on production demands.

Pay: AED3,000.00 - AED3,500.00 per month
