Assistant Buyer - Apparel Merchandising Dubai - Retail
Role Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and commercially minded Assistant Buyer to support our fashion and lifestyle merchandise operations in Dubai. This role plays a key part in seasonal assortment planning, vendor management, and cross-functional collaboration to drive profitable growth. What You'll Do

• Support the development of seasonal buying strategies aligned with brand and financial goals
• Collaborate on assortment planning, investment allocation, and product phasing schedules
• Assist with OTB (Open-to-Buy) execution, purchase orders, and budget controls
• Coordinate with suppliers for sample development, order placement, and timely delivery
• Support vendor negotiations for pricing, terms, and added-value services
• Analyze weekly sales performance by category, store, and SKU to recommend in-season actions
• Propose markdowns, reorders, or rebalancing based on stock levels and margin targets
• Conduct competitor research and trend analysis to support future product decisions
• Maintain and update product lifecycle plans and buying documentation
• Collaborate with visual merchandising and marketing to align product launches and seasonal stories
• Contribute to staff training on new product features and collections

Ideal Profile

• 5-7 years of experience in retail buying or merchandising, with at least 1-3 years in a leadership or coordination role
• Strong understanding of inventory management, purchase order flows, and category performance analysis
• Excellent analytical, negotiation, and organizational skills
• Knowledge of OTB planning, vendor relations, and merchandising calendars
• Bachelor's degree in Business, Fashion Merchandising, or a related field
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and retail ERP systems
