Job Description

ChampionX has an immediate need for an Area Manager supporting our Oman business. In this role, the incumbent will stabilise and grow ChampionX current business within the Oman District through team leadership, people management, technical innovation and financial profitability. This should include delivery of Customer Value through understanding the dynamic processes and delivering solutions that can increase revenue and profitability for ChampionX.

    What You Will Do:
    • Establish sales targets for each district sales person in accordance to District targets and coordinate their execution
    • Based on direct exposure and experience with customer, proactively provide insights to senior leadership regarding P&L for customer and begin to independently manage aspects of it with assistance from leader
    • Lead annual business review (both, customer business reviews - i.e. quarterly - and ChampionX/District/Area internal reviews)
    • Demonstrate versatility by calling on all levels of the customer organization
    • Work with sales representatives to influence, read and/or respond to RFPs and Specifications
    • Expected and encouraged to share and grow your knowledge and expertise collaboratively with colleagues across Champion X, by regularly leveraging on available knowledge sharing platforms, such as CORE
    • Identify external target business opportunities across districts and business groups
    • Work closely with KAMs and SAMs to gain awareness of customer strategies and communications
    • Get actively involved with legal department to write/update contracts that protect ChampionX’s financial resources and interests
    • Constantly communicate with Senior Leaders within business group relevant updates and milestones for accounts within territory
    • Proactively audit Jr. representatives to ensure they have learned and incorporated safe practices while conducting field work
    • Proficient in most/all types of field work, including sampling and testing knowledge, and transfer that expertise to more Jr. representatives through active training and coaching
    • Facilitate the technical development of his/her area and execute technical development plan
    • Help solve technical problems and spend time in the field
    • Lead District Meeting focused on variety of topics - safety, sales growth/pyramid management, customer retention and training (technical & sales)
    • Responsible for full cycle annual performance review of direct reports; provide input on hiring decisions, termination decisions, bonus allocations and account assignments
    • Actively participate in the annual PP+D process and work with Manager to set goals for the upcoming year
    • Drive own Individual Development Plan (IDP), with support and input from Manager
      Minimum Education and Experience
      • Bachelor degree required. Fields of Engineering (chemical, mechanical, industrial) or Life Sciences (biology, chemistry, etc) preferred
      • Minimum five years of professional experience
      • Excellent oral and written communication skills, including presentation skills
      • Strong analytical skills, including data analytics skills
      • Strong work ethic and ability to use own initiative. Able to work independently with a high level of accountability
      • Must have strong Microsoft Excel, Word, Power Point and Word skills. Must be able to create excel sheets to analyze data (V-Look ups & Pivots essential. Must be able to create professional and impactful PowerPoint presentations.
      • Fluency in English both verbal and written. Arabic language would be an advantage
      • Specialty chemical industry experience. Working knowledge of Extraction, Upgraders, Refineries, and/or process related systems (if applicable to business group)
      • Account leadership experience that includes calling on multilevel plant or facilities management to accomplish company goals
      • Good negotiation and problem resolution skills
