Role Summary
We are seeking an experienced AI Engineer specializing in Rust and GitHub repository management for a 3-month remote contract. You will work on building and validating high-quality datasets for training and evaluating Large Language Models (LLMs) using real-world open-source projects. This role combines hands-on coding, environment setup, and AI-driven testing, offering a unique opportunity to work at the intersection of software engineering and artificial intelligence.

Position Overview
As an AI Engineer, you will collaborate with researchers to identify suitable GitHub repositories, configure execution environments, validate bug-fix performance, and support AI model testing. Strong expertise in Rust, CI/CD pipelines, and open-source workflows is essential.
What You'll Do

• Identify and triage trending GitHub issues suitable for AI model evaluation.
• Set up and configure development environments using Docker and similar tools.
• Evaluate and maintain code quality, functionality, and unit test coverage.
• Modify and run repositories to test AI-driven bug fixes and improvements.
• Work closely with AI researchers to select repositories for experimental use cases.
• (Optional) Guide junior engineers and ensure timely delivery of project tasks.

Ideal Profile

• 3-4+ years of professional Rust development experience.
• Strong understanding of Git, GitHub workflows, Docker, and CI/CD pipelines.
• Hands-on experience debugging and running complex, real-world codebases locally.
• Exposure to AI/ML workflows and interest in LLM applications is a plus.
• Excellent problem-solving and communication skills, capable of working independently.
