The Role

We are seeking an

Adjunct Faculty in Operations & Supply Chain Management

to deliver high-quality teaching on undergraduate and postgraduate modules within the Faculty of Business and Law.
The successful candidate will contribute to module delivery, leadership, and academic development across a range of Operations and Supply Chain Management subjects. Teaching is expected to be student-focused, research-informed, and aligned with UK higher education standards.
The role includes teaching, assessment, academic administration, and active contribution to enhancing the curriculum and student learning experience. The successful candidate will also support programme leads in managing allocated modules and participate in faculty and University activities.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

Teach and assess modules in Operations and Supply Chain Management, including areas such as: Operations Research Automation and Control Industrial Engineering Operations Management Global Supply Chain Management Logistics and Supply Chain Technology Supply Chain Finance or Marketing Transportation Systems Manufacturing Operations Lead allocated modules, ensuring content is current, student-focused, and aligned with industry and research developments. Develop and deliver innovative, engaging teaching sessions and seminars. Support students academically and create meaningful industry engagement opportunities. Contribute to curriculum and programme development in collaboration with programme and faculty teams. Participate fully in the University's quality assurance processes and follow academic guidelines. Undertake administrative duties related to teaching, assessment, and student support. Promote an inclusive learning environment reflecting DMU's commitment to equality, diversity, and respect. Collaborate effectively with colleagues across the Faculty and University. Perform additional duties related to allocated modules as required.

Candidate Requirements

Qualifications

A relevant

Bachelor's degree

(undergraduate) in Operations & Supply Chain Management or a related field (required). A relevant

Master's degree

(postgraduate) or professional qualification in Operations & Supply Chain Management (required).

PhD in Operations & Supply Chain Management

(preferred). Attested qualifications with

UAE Ministry of Education equivalency

(mandatory requirement).

Experience

2-4 years of teaching experience in Operations & Supply Chain Management or related disciplines within a higher education institution, preferably in the UK system (required). Experience in managing module content and curriculum development (desirable).

Knowledge & Skills

Strong expertise in Operations & Supply Chain Management and associated areas listed above (required). Knowledge of statistical software such as

R

or

Python

(desirable). Evidence of innovative and effective teaching practices (required). Ability to present information clearly and adapt teaching methods to diverse learners. Strong communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills. Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team. Ability to manage workload, meet deadlines, and work under pressure. Sensitivity to diverse student needs and commitment to inclusive education. Motivation to mentor students and enhance the learning experience. Willingness to contribute to the faculty's international development and academic activities.
