Job Description

We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized

Accountant

to manage and oversee financial operations within our automotive care and service business. The ideal candidate will have strong accounting knowledge, familiarity with industry-specific processes, and the ability to ensure compliance, accuracy, and efficiency in all financial transactions.

Key Responsibilities:



General Accounting:

Manage day-to-day accounting functions, including general ledger, accounts payable/receivable, and journal entries. Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements. Reconcile bank and credit card statements.

Automotive Service Accounting:

Track and report costs related to vehicle repairs, parts, labor, and service operations. Maintain accurate inventory records for parts and supplies. Monitor service orders, warranties, and vendor accounts.

Payroll & Tax:

Process payroll and employee reimbursements. Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal tax regulations. Prepare and submit tax filings (sales tax, payroll taxes, etc.).

Financial Analysis & Reporting:

Assist management with budgeting, forecasting, and profitability analysis. Generate financial reports to support strategic decision-making. Analyze cost control opportunities in labor, parts, and operations.

Compliance & Auditing:

Maintain accurate records and documentation for audit readiness. Support external audits and ensure adherence to financial policies and procedures.

Qualifications:



Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA preferred). 2+ years of accounting experience, ideally in the automotive, repair, or service industry. Strong understanding of accounting principles. Proficient in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks) Advanced Excel skills and data analysis capabilities. Excellent attention to detail, organizational skills, and integrity.

Preferred Skills:



Familiarity with dealership management systems (DMS) and POS software. Knowledge of automotive parts and service operations. Experience in cost accounting and job costing methods.

Working Conditions:



Office environment within a service center or dealership. Collaboration with service managers, parts departments, and administrative staff.
