2D Draftsman / Interior Design CAD Designer - Wood Joinery Specialist

Job Summary

We're seeking a skilled

2D Draftsman

with strong AutoCAD expertise and hands-on interior design joinery experience. You'll translate creative concepts into precise technical drawings, collaborate with site and production teams, and ensure seamless delivery of woodwork solutions in fit-out environments.

Key Responsibilities

Technical Drafting

: Produce detailed 2D technical drawings, including floor plans, elevations, sections, and joinery details, using AutoCAD.

Joinery Design

: Develop precise shop drawings for custom woodwork elements such as cabinetry, furniture, partitions, and wall cladding, ensuring alignment with design specifications.

Material Specifications

: Specify appropriate wood types, finishes, hardware, and joinery techniques, collaborating with the production team to ensure manufacturability and cost-effectiveness.

Site Coordination

: Conduct site visits to take accurate measurements, assess site conditions, and create as-built drawings reflecting real-time changes

Documentation & Revisions

: Maintain organized records of drawings, revisions, and project documentation. Update drawings based on feedback from clients, project managers, or site engineers

Collaboration

: Work closely with interior designers, architects, project managers, and production teams to ensure design intent is accurately translated into technical drawings.

Quality Assurance

: Ensure all drawings comply with industry standards, building codes, and company-specific guidelines. Conduct regular reviews to maintain high-quality outputs.

Cutting Lists & BOQs

: Prepare detailed cutting lists and Bills of Quantities (BOQs) to facilitate material procurement and efficient production planning.

Qualifications & Skills

Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Interior Design, Architecture, Engineering, or related field.

3-5+ years

of AutoCAD drafting experience in interior fit-out/joinery roles, ideally within the UAE.

Proficient AutoCAD

skills; familiarity with SketchUp/Revit or other 3D tools is a plus. Strong knowledge of wood materials, hardware, joinery methods, and CNC processes. Excellent attention to detail in translating site dimensions into precise drawings. Good communication skills and ability to work across teams and vendors. Organized, proactive, and able to handle multiple projects and tight deadlines.
